The YJCC’s Senior Adult program provides opportunities to get involved, express creative inclinations, exercise the mind and body and achieve a sense of belonging to a very special community of people.
”Silver Seniors” enjoy Tuesdays and Thursdays filled with organized activities, classes, swimming, exercise and socializing with other members. Activities include aquacise, sensational senior aerobics, current events discussions, history and more. Special events, musical performances, holiday celebrations, trips and lectures add to this stimulating and lively program. “Golden Seniors” enjoy all the Tuesday and Thursday programming, plus use of the YJCC all week long. Offering additional ways to get involved and be connected are our Wednesday groups: Y.E.S. (Young Energetic Seniors), Live & Learn and Y's Owls. These groups, open to YJCC members only, plan their own activities, lectures, luncheons and trips.
The YJCC’s senior lunch program serves nutritious, hot, kosher lunches twice a week to our senior members at a nominal cost. The Senior Lunch Meal is "more than just a meal," providing a great opportunity to socialize with peers. Meals are subsidized through the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey and the U.S.D.A. There is limited transportation to and from the YJCC through Bergen County Special Services, based upon their schedule and subject to availability. Being a part of this warm, supportive community brings companionship, confidence and continued self-worth to our members.
