What’s better than a triple word score? How about a triple word score AND knowing that you’re raising money for an important cause, all at the same time? At the Bergen County YJCC on Friday, February 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., people will gather for an exciting day of Scrabble®, Mah Jongg, bridge, canasta, and more at “Play for the Cause.” Participants will be able to play games and socialize while helping raise money for projects at the YJCC. The YJCC is at 605 Pascack Rd., Township of Washington.
In addition to a day of playing favorite games, the event includes continental breakfast, a catered lunch and a raffle.
Chairs for the event are Geri Cantor and Eva Jakob. The event idea originated with Geri; Play for the Cause is now in its fifth year.
In past years proceeds raised from the event were donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry, Gilda’s Club, the Bergen County educational center for autism and the YJCC’s Camp Shalom, a summer camp for children and young adults with developmental and physical delays. It is $40 per person to participate in Play for the Cause, including lunch. For more information or to make reservations for Play for the Cause, contact Jill Brown at (201) 666-6610, ext. 222 or
