Mama Doni and her Jewish indie-rock band for kids will perform funky music with a Jewish twist at the Bergen County YJCC on Sunday, February 28 at 10:30 a.m. Tickets to this David Rukin Young People's Concert, available at the YJCC, are $12 per person for YJCC members or $36 for the immediate family; $15 per person for the general public.

The YJCC concert, held on Purim, promises to bring an added dimension of fun, with each child receiving a Purim goodie-bag.
Mama Doni, a.k.a. Doni Zasloff Thomas, is a mom, music teacher, songwriter, and lead singer in The Mama Doni Band. The band won the 2008 Simcha Award for “Inspiring Joy Through Music,” in competition with more than 100 bands from 15 different countries at the International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam. The group’s first album, I Love Herring (& Other Fish Shticks for Kids), was released to immediate acclaim in May 2008. The newest recording is Chanukah Fever.
